- A BRIEF NOTE ABOUT MEMORY AND THIS PROGRAM !!
- =============================================
-
- Many of the BEST programs require close to 600K of FREE memory and often
- UPPER memory (EMS) to run as well. If you get an "out of memory" or
- "NOT ENOUGH MEMORY" error when you try to run programs on this CD, you have
- too many drivers taking up your memory space. You must FREE UP MORE MEMORY
- on your system. The important factor is NOT how much memory you have on your
- machine, but how much you have available for use within the first 640K. You
- may have no difficulty at all, but if you do, Try this.
-
- 1- We suggest you run MEMMAKER from the DOS prompt. When asked if you require
- EMS answer YES.
-
- 2- Or use a memory manager such as QEMM (The BEST) or 386 MAX
-
- NOTE: This CD creates a 500K temporary SWAP file on your C: drive.
-
- The CD MENU SYSTEM also uses EMS upper memory to function. Most systems
- already have this set. If you have any problems with the menu system,
- we suggest running MEMMAKER from the C: prompt to optimize your memory.
- MEMMAKER will make sure you have the following lines in your config.sys
- file upon booting the computer.
-
- ie: Top two lines of the CONFIG.SYS DEVICE=C:\HIMEM.SYS
- DEVICE=C:\EMM386.sys
-
- The best solution is running a memory manager program (QEMM) for some of the
- more advanced games.
